# AIVory Genie - Your Own Agent, in JetBrains

AIVory Genie brings Claude Code, Codex, Gemini and Aider into JetBrains IDEs. It uses your existing CLI subscription and traces every edit to its prompt.

Alright, another one: AIVory Genie is out.
Everyone and their dog is shipping an AI agent plugin right now (woof). So why another one? Because I kept hitting the same two annoyances and got tired of it.
First: I already pay for Claude Code. And Codex. I do not want a plugin that wants its own API key and its own bill on top of that. Genie just calls the CLI you already have installed. Claude Code, Codex, Gemini/Antigravity, Aider - all auto-detected on startup, zero config, switch between them whenever you like.
Second: after a long agent run I could never tell what actually changed and why. So Genie ties every file edit back to the exact prompt that caused it, with before/after content. Three history views - by prompt, by session, by event - and one-click revert. Your IDE already tracks file history. We just map it against your prompts.
Then there’s the magic wand, which is the part I use most. Point it at any region of your screen - a broken UI, an error dialog, an architecture diagram - and it works out whether to send text-with-source or a screenshot, whichever is leaner. Turns out that saves a lot of tokens.
There’s also an embedded MCP server that hands the agent what the IDE already knows: open files, editor selection, inspection problems, VCS status, file structure. So the agent sees your warnings and type hierarchies, not just raw file contents.
It’s free, and staying that way for the foreseeable future. If you want to support it there’s a buy-us-a-coffee link in the plugin description (yes please).
